The Best Email Solution for Any Size Practice
How do I Get a Custom Email Address?
Would you like to have your practice use a custom email domain, such as “info@yourpractice.com”? For therapists and private practitioners of all types, there are two solutions that I recommend.
Therapy Sites
Therapysites.com is primarily designed to give you a custom, template website. This is the easiest way to get your practice on the web. Therapy Sites allows you to create custom email addresses, at “yourpractice.com.” The emails will forward to your personal email account, so you don’t actually check email within the Therapy Sites server.
This is a good solution for solo or very small practices, but become more complicated to manage once the practice grows. Why? Because this solution uses a personal email address, setting up each person’s account to respond with the more professional “@yourpractice.com” address
Google Apps for Business
Once your practice has more than a couple of employees, you may consider Google Apps for Business. For $5 per user/month, you can have your email at a custom domain (“info@yourpractice.com”). You will be able to have Gmail as your company email platform, private-labeled for your company.
Why Have a Custom Email Address? I Already Have a Free One at Yahoo, Gmail, etc…
A custom email address at your domain will project professionalism, and make clients feel that you have a stable business. There is nothing worse than having a business card with “@yahoo.com.” If you are going to charge real money for your services, have a real email address (and real business cards for that matter, not the free ones with an advertisement on the back). To save money on this part of your practice is to be “Penny-wise and pound-foolish.”
